“What a privilege it was to be used by God to serve His people in the Dominican Republic. While emotionally challenging at times, I am thankful to have had the opportunity to look outside of my sheltered life and to see the needs of others.  This trip opened my eyes and softened my heart to the incredible people in the DR. I came home changed forever and with a greater appreciation for the fact that earthly possessions are not a prerequisite for joy. Worshipping with locals on a rooftop in a barrio in Santo Domingo is an experience I will never forget.”

“Traveling with One Vision is truly a high spiritual experience. The teams are ordered by our great and mighty God as He uses John to direct and coordinate these trips. I have been so blessed by the team members and their love for the Lord Jesus and their devotion for missions and particularly for the orphans. What a blessing to be greeted by these precious children and yes, we love on them, but they love on us and we are the more blessed ones. Jesus was a healer as well as a teacher and lover of people. As we set up the clinics, it is a joy to be there and minister to those dear villagers whether in the Dominican or Haiti, praying with and over them as we do what we can for their physical condition. We minister in body, soul, and spirit and pray God grows into fruition the seeds that are sown. I look forward with much joy to each trip.”

"What could I ever contribute to a mission trip? After all, I'm a "new" Christian. How could I reach farther than just swinging a hammer or waving a paintbrush? I soon learned that my "selfulness" isn't necessarily defined by my knowledge of The Bible. I have other tools that God has led me to use. An outgoing personality, for instance. But even more important is how my past can help heal and influence others."

"The children's smiles, their laughter, the many hugs and kisses - these are things you have to be there to see, hear and feel. Because of obligations at my job, which came up at the last minute, I almost decided against going. I would have missed all that God had in store for me if I had listened to my head and not my heart."

"The reason for going is more than for what I can give. The reason for going is very selfish-it is for what I get out of it. It is in seeing how God works to make the trip possible. It is in the smile of a child. It is in seeing a church completed and the church full and brimming over at the dedication service for the new building. It is in the bond of love in the group that works together. It is spending an hour or more with a group of girls trying to communicate in each other's language until an 11-year-old girl can say in English what she has been trying so hard to say, "I love you, Karen." And that is only the beginning.
